DAY 1

COLOMBO

 

  • Arrival at Colombo International Airport where you will meet a representative of our local agency and you will be taken to your hotel
  • Afternoon: you will visit the city of Colombo, the economic capital of Sri Lanka
  • Canoe trip in Muthurajawela, the lagoon between Negombo and Colombo
  • Late afternoon; going back to the hote

DAY 2

NEGOMBO – PINNAWALA ET DAMBULLA

 

PINNAWALA
  • After breakfast you will head for the town of Pinnawala
  • Visit the elephant orphanage; you will see the baby elephants having breakfast then having a bath in the river

 

DAMBULLA

  • Early afternoon you will go to Dambulla to visit the cave-temple complex and see five richly-adorned caves

Dinner and night at the Sigiriya Hotel (or similar)

DAY 3

DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA – POLONNARUWA

 

SIGIRIYA
  • After breakfast you will drive to Lion Rock in Sigiriya
  • Visit a batik workshop to learn all about how these fabrics are made

 

HABARANA

  • Afternoon: you will go on an elephant ride

 

POLONNARUWA

  • Lunch with a local family to immerse yourself in Sri Lankan culture and culinary flavours
  • Visit the ancient city and stroll amid the rice paddies along the Parakrama Samudraya dam, an area strewn with historic and cultural sites

Dinner and night at the 3-star Giritale Hotel (or similar)

DAY 4

MINNERIYA – MATALE – KANDY

 

MINNERIYA

  • Early morning; elephant-watching safari
  • Road to Kandy passing through small villages along the rice paddies
  • On the way; visit Matale’s famous spice garden where you can see lemongrass, cinnamon and many other spices
  • A free Ayurvedic face or head massage will be offered
  • Free time for lunch

KANDY

  • Visit of the city and the main monuments
  • Evening; traditional dance and music performance
  • Night; ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth

Dinner and night at the 4-stars Thilanka Hotel (or similar)

JOUR 5

PERADENIYA – MAUSSAWA

 

PERADENIYA

  • Morning; visit of the Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, the largest of their kind in Sri Lanka
  • After you will head for the verdant hills to visit a tea plantation and a tea factory

 

MAUSSAWA

  • You can go for walks and meet the villagers
  • Don’t miss the culinary tasting, where you can sample dishes made with home-grown organic products

DAY 6

KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

 

  • Morning; drive to Nuwara Eliya and the seemingly-endless sweep of tea-covered hills
  • Several stops are scheduled, in particular at a tea factory where you can see the various tea manufacturing processes and enjoy a tea tasting
  • Free time for lunch

 

NUWARA ELIYA

  • Afternoon; go on a discovery walk around town

DAY 7

NUWARA ELIYA – UDA WALAWE

 

  • Morning you will take a tuk-tuk to Nanu Oya train station
  • Travelling on a local train is a genuine experience! On your journey you will have time to admire gorgeous sceneries of tea plantations and waterfalls
  • In Ohiya; you can go for a stroll around the village
  • A driver will wait for you and take you to Uda Walawe
  • End of the afternoon, jeep safari in Uda Walawe National Park

Dinner and night at the 4-star Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort (or similar)

DAY 8

UDA WALAWE – COLOMBO AIRPORT

 

  • After breakfast; transfer to the airport
  • On the way; visit of Colombo
  • Flight to Malé from Colombo Airport
  • Malé; transfer to your hotel is by fast boat or seaplane

Dinner and night at the 4-star Adaaran Club Rannalhi (or similar)

DAYS 9 & 10

MALDIVES

  • Seaside all-inclusive stay
  • You will spend three nights in the Maldives in a beachside bungalow

JOUR 11

MALÉ AIRPORT – RETURN FLIGHT

 

  • Transfer to Malé Airport and flight back to your country
  • Time may vary depending on your flight schedule

  • Transport in an air-conditioned vehicle for airport transfers, for the tour itself and the visit of sites with an English-speaking driver guide.
